As more communities nationwide are introduced to our pizzas made with hand-tossed dough, 100 percent mozzarella grated in-house and slow-cooked sauce, it’s more important than ever to pay tribute to our roots and explore our history, which leads us to new heights in growth.
Pizza Factory opened its first location more than 30 years ago, and began franchising in 1985. Current CEO Mary Jane Riva and her husband, Bob, joined the Pizza Factory family in the years following the launch of the company. After opening their first location in Murrieta, California, the Rivas continued their momentum with several other locations.
In 2012, the Rivas assumed ownership of Pizza Factory, introducing system-wide technological advances that allowed the company to operate more efficiently throughout its ever-growing franchise system. With the Rivas at the helm, the franchise system has grown 5-10 percent annually. Likewise, Mary Jane, Bob and their team have continued to prioritize new technology to update and enhance existing stores. These efforts have led to a double-digit increase in sales system-wide.
Now, Pizza Factory is enjoying prolific growth with more than 100 locations in six states. They plan to open 10 stores each year, targeting key markets through the West.
