A Full-Circle Franchise Story: Meet the New Owners of Pizza Factory Mt. Shasta

Pizza Factory Mt. Shasta

Pizza Factory has always been more than a place to grab a great slice. It’s where communities connect and hometown pride comes alive. For franchisees Marlee and Matt Rogers, their new Mt. Shasta Pizza Factory represents both a fresh start and full-circle moment.

Before opening their doors in September, the couple’s connection to Pizza Factory began decades earlier at Pizza Factory in Dunsmuir, owned and operated for nearly 40 years by Matt’s parents, Gary and Jeannie Rogers. It was there that Marlee and Matt met each other, learned the operations, and built their foundation for a strong partnership both in business and in life.

“Pizza Factory is where I started my career, where I met my husband, and where our family has built so many memories,” said Marlee. “Opening this new location is truly a full-circle moment.”

Carrying on a Local Legacy in Mt. Shasta

Marlee and Matt took over a beloved Mt. Shasta spot, the former Say Cheese pizza shop, which had been a fixture in the community for about 30 years.

While they were excited to bring their hometown brand to the area, they weren’t sure how residents would respond to the change. Thankfully, Mt. Shasta has embraced the Rogers family with open arms.

“We have been busy since the day we opened the doors,” Marlee shared.

Several members of their new team once worked at Say Cheese, reflecting the Rogers’ commitment to preserving local jobs and supporting families. It’s a perfect example of how Pizza Factory franchisees serve as true community partners.

From Fans to Franchisees: A Family Business Built on Connection

Many Pizza Factory franchisees have an ownership journey just like Marlee and Matt. What began as two young employees tossing dough in Dunsmuir turned into two decades of growing with the brand, learning the pizza business from the inside, and ultimately building a future they’re proud of.

Their story is a testament to how to build a family business with the backing of a franchise that values community, mentorship, and long-term growth.
