Already a winner with its delicious hand-tossed pizzas and a significant commitment to local communities, the Pizza Factory franchise scores big again by becoming the official pizza of the NHL team, the San Jose Sharks.

Through the partnership, Pizza Factory will be the exclusive pizza to be served at Sharks’ events and at the SAP Center in San Jose, for the term of the agreement. This marketing venture, which began in September 2017, means a greater opportunity for the public to taste high-quality pizza and appreciate Pizza Factory’s slogan, “We toss ‘em, they’re awesome.”

The joint venture also gives the Pizza Factory franchise a nat

ional platform for its community outreach efforts, including its popular “No Bully Zone” program. Community involvement is an operating cornerstone of Pizza Factory’s business philosophy. The pizza franchise will host a special Game Night every season to increase awareness of its programs and to continue to work on fostering inclusive communities.

Pizza Factory’s president and CEO Mary Jane Riva is thrilled about the partnership. “The San Jose Sharks, who have fans across the country, have initiatives and values that align well with ours,” she said. “We pride ourselves on being involved in the communities we serve, and look forward to propelling our reach forward with the help of the Sharks’ national presence. Our slogan is ‘We toss ‘em, they’re awesome’ and we’re excited for even more fans and SAP Center visitors to experience this sentiment and learn what we’re all about.”

Pizza Factory’s impressive community investment and partnerships have won praise from its customers and media channels as well. A recent Sierra Star feature story touched on the highlights of the Sharks partnership giving the pizza franchise an added community boost.

Pizza Factory Celebrates a Year of Growth at Convention

Pizza Factory_Event_03Whenever the whole Pizza Factory family gets together, it’s sure to be a good time. The annual convention is no exception – in April, Pizza Factory hosted the convention in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, where all owners, home office staff and vendors came together to celebrate successes, strategize for the year ahead, hear from industry experts and learn about new trends.

The past year was strong for Pizza Factory – named #5 Most Improved Franchise by PMQ, honored by Franchise Business Review as a Top 200 brand in franchisee satisfaction, listed in the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 and placed in the Top 20 Restaurants on the Rise by Nation’s Restaurant News. The numbers support these honors as well – store growth was up more than 7 percent in the last year.

The convention also serves as a time to pay tribute to franchisees who have done exceptional work within the Pizza Factory franchise system. The Top Sales award went to the Bishop Pizza Factory, and the Placerville Pizza Factory won the Way to Grow award for its 26 percent increase in sales over the year. Pizza Factory also honored dozens of franchisees who have been in the franchise system for 20 and 30 years.

PizzaFactory-BullyZone_010Along with the awards, the convention was a great time to revisit some of the components of the brand that make it truly stand out, including showcasing Pizza Factory’s philanthropic work with No Kid Hungry and its commitment to the No Bully Zone program. This year, Pizza Factory plans to provide friendship benches to a school in each Pizza Factory market as a continued effort to combat the bully problem in schools.

As always, the convention was a wonderful time to get the whole Pizza Factory family together to learn and network – we’re already looking forward to next year!

A Look Back at a Delicious Year

It’s been a busy year for Pizza Factory! Not only have we continued to endear our brand further into the 110-plus communities we serve nationwide, but we also added two new Pizza Factory locations in La Quinta and Merced, California. And the residents of Merced aren’t the only ones singing the praises of Pizza Factory – this year, we’ve seen dozens of wonderful media placements locally and nationally, as well as in trade publications and consumer-facing media. Some of our most notable pieces locally were the Mariposa Gazette and the Winters Express, which celebrated Pizza Factory’s local milestones, as well as the Gilbert Sun News and the Idaho Press-Tribune that touted the brand’s expansion plans in those regions. On a national front, CNBC ran a very positive profile on the growth of the brand and Fit Small Business featured a Pizza Factory franchisee’s best marketing advice for new franchisees.
